Steve's roots in Edinburg run deep. He was born, raised and educated in Edinburg. After leaving South Texas to earn his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Steve returned to Edinburg where he started his family and began serving his community. In that regard, he was named to the Edinburg Community Development Council and elected Chairman in 1992. Similarly, after having accepted an appointment to Edinburg's Planning and Zoning Commission in 2002, Steve was elected Chairman of that body in 2004. He has also been named to the Edinburg Educational Foundation and Hidalgo County's Boot Camp Board of Directors.
Steve began his legal career with the Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office after receiving his license to practice law in 1983. He was subsequently named First Assistant District Attorney in 1989. After years of public service, Steve entered private practice to assist his clients in defending their rights in South Texas. Steve assists clients in matters involving medical malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, insurance law, products liability, commercial litigation and other special business or general liability cases.
